Day 13 in Brazil

Another relaxed morning. I can’t believe it’s Mother’s day! It is my first Mother’s Day without my kids! Even his mom doesn’t have Mother’s Day with any of her boys, only her grandkids. I hope my boys remembered to wish her and spoil her today! I really don’t like that but Peter has the same predicament next month! He will be away to the United States to attend a conference in June and will miss Father’s Day with us. That’s sad…. awww.

We had a leisurely breakfast. They don’t have church service in the morning on Sundays. They only have service in the evenings at 6pm. This will be our last Sunday with Amigo Intimo. We had to wish Ps Odimar our thanks via FB since he is far away in Mexico City. We have thanked Elisama for allowing us to stay in their home. I hope we haven’t stressed them emotionally or financially. I am believing that the Lord will bless them for opening up their home to us.

Peter is busy preparing for his preach tonight. I have the Bible program open on the laptop so he can access the concordance. His huge Bible that he is using has no concordance. Go figure. He’s busy asking Elisama words in Portuguese. I have no idea what he is going to speak about tonight. I hope that the Lord will speak through him as he ministers tonight.

Tomorrow, we are supposed to be with the other Pastor from Goiania. His name is Ps. Britos.  Apparently, he lives close to the University. They will be developing a University near Ps Odimar and Elisama in the future. If they do, they will have to develop more shops and things for students because this area will be buzzing with university students.  They’ll have such a vibe!

We are going to another market this afternoon. It’s here in the area close to her house. It should be fun. I’ll be wearing my flat Crocs so I don’t kill my feet!

Until later y’all! I will add more after Peter speaks but that will be early in the morning for the South Africans!

Later is here again!  I was told around 3pm that Wendell had called and he wanted me to be at the church early. He wanted me to sing. So I decided to take a nap.  I surfed the web and posted on FB then I finally decided to sleep just for a bit. I got up and got ready for service. I was ready early. Everyone else…not so much! ha ha.

We arrived and Edielma asked if I could lead 2 songs. I decided on 2 worship songs. I already forgot the first one and the second one was “this is the air.” When we started singing “this is the air”, I felt the Holy Spirit begin to move. They latched on and we were up and away! It was awesome.  They really connected! After a bit, I handed over to Edielma and she led the same song in Portuguese. I played the flute. It was great to just worship.

They had offering afterwards and then Peter spoke. He spoke about “Kingdom domain.” You know about what a Kingdom is, being in or out of the Kingdom, etc. He spoke about it before at the Lighthouse. It was really good to hear it again. I think it was what they needed to hear….  Elisama came up and they prayed and prayed. People came up who wanted to just get things right with God. Others came to give their hearts to the Lord. It was beautiful to see. After the ministry time, the children came up to sing a song. They signed to it too! It was so sweet. The song was to  honor mother’s. They prayed for the mom’s too. How sweet.

When service was over, we were taken to the same place that we had Pasteis before. A nice size group of young people were already there.  Peter and I each had a pastel and orange juice. I think it was 11pm when we eventually arrived back at the apartment. Service began at 6-ish pm.

He’s busy packing. I packed the majority of my things. There’s just a few odds and ends which have to go into the suitcase. No worries. A quick little pack in the AM.  We are off to Ps Brito tomorrow but he doesn’t speak any english. This should be an entertaining week!

Until tomorrow.
