Wow, the time has flown already. We’ve been in Paarl for almost a month. Somehow, I lose track of time. I’ve been saying, “two weeks.” We moved on November 27th and it’s December 22nd! Sweetness and I had a crazy day after we moved. We had to pack out the house and get the living room/kitchen ready for guests who were coming on Friday. What was I thinking? dunno.
In retrospect, it was good because I was under pressure to get things done. We also had family and friends over for a belated Thanksgiving on the Sunday. Again, you know the Saturday was spent baking and cooking and all the prep. Both days went off fabulously.
Our daughter has had a whale of a time. She’s had her girlfriends over several times, gone to their houses for sleepovers, walked around the estate visiting friends or playing paddle tennis with her dad or brothers. It’s wonderful to see her out and about being active and having fun. That’s what life is about for her.
We repainted our old piano. I didn’t look because my poor brain couldn’t digest the process but I did end up adding my touch to it. We’ve been on a paint the furniture binge. Living where we are in Paarl has already been such an amazing decision. The stress of not worrying about security is off of us. The surrounding areas make you think you are on holiday, when you actually aren’t. It’s just the country in me coming out. I love living in the country, surrounded by nature and still close to town.
I’m happy about our decision to move here. Hubby even bought a “new” car, pre-loved with low kilometers on the clock. Brutus (our old Chevy Trailblazer) is sold. The new car is dubbed “Gigi.” Peter wants to call it “Gladys.” Uh, no.Asher came for a visit in October. It was way too short but I loved every second. Zach got engaged to Elanda. They are a sweet young couple. David moves to the States in February/March 2020. Alyssa starts 9th grade. I’ve decided to put the book on “hold” for a bit. There’s a reason. God is in control of timing and the order of things. It will be published in the absolute best timing. Obedience is key. I trust God implicitly in all things.Well, it’s late so I’m going to close for now. Ciao!
